It's easy to get caught up in your life and even become self absorbed because people work long hours and have busy schedules even outside of work. However, there comes a time when you need to reflect and take a minute to observe the world around you. Try and see what others are doing, how they are spending their time and what they need. There is nothing wring with helping others out when they are going through a rough patch. Everyone goes through it and the world will ultimately become a better place if there are lots of people helping people
You don't need to have any special skills in order to help others. You also do not need to have any money to help others. There's plenty that can be done without money to help others. You can help no matter who you are and where you come from. There is nothing specific that dictates whether you can help others or not.
You can do anything to help others. If you see someone has a need for food, buy them groceries when you have some spare cash. If you see that someone has no money to get to work, try and help them out with some transport costs for a while. If you don't have money to help, that's fine too, you can baby sit, dog sit, wash someones care for them or clean their house for a few days. There is literally no limit to what you can do to help others.
You can help out where ever there is a need. You can't really be much help sitting at home, on the couch in front of the TV. So you need to get out there and get involved in order for you to become aware of and know what needs they have out there in the world.
You can help out at any time that you choose. Some work full time jobs so they can only help at certain times, however, if you have no job and lots of spare time, help out as often as you can. You can choose to do many things for others at all times of the day. At least you will have the satisfaction of knowing that you have not only helped others but spent your time constructively.
There are a few reasons as to why you should help others. One of the main reasons is because you never know when you may need the help. So why not spend your time doing good for others so that you can also get that same consideration when you need the help. It may not be sometime soon, but you never know hen that day will come.
If you have money, you can do much more for others. You can choose to buy blankets for children in shelters or for the homeless. You can also choose to buy food for the soup kitchens that feed the homeless. You can pay for someone's transport going to work or buy something that a person needs desperately, but cannot seem to afford for themselves.
If you have money to but something that is not just a need, but a want, then go ahead and do it. There are times when you can go over and above the call of duty, and if it's within your ability to do so, then there is no harm in it.
