Your Inner Morgan Freeman

By Evan Sanders

Take a quick second to close your eyes and imagine that you are in a very loud bar having a horrible day. When you get there, let's continue moving forward.

To your left there's an outrageously drunk baseball fan screaming and yelling his head off, spilling his drink everywhere, and being absolutely obnoxious. Nothing is off limits and he suddenly has taken a liking to you and begins to pour out his dramatic life story.

Oh good lord now he's telling you about his personal life. Get this guy away from me! Unfortunately, you can't get rid of him.

So instead of doing anything you just sit there and take it. The guy is all over you telling you his sob story and how bad his life is. You don't get to survive any sparing of detail. He is telling you everything.

Unfortunately, you are permanently stuck with someone who loves to rant about their life and how bad everything is. They complain. They yell. They scream. It's an endless amount of madness.

Too bad. For the foreseeable future, you're stuck with him. Oh common, stop sulking...you're letting him get to you.

The entire time you spent listening to this fan you failed to realize that Morgan Freeman was sitting on your other side trying to give you some advice about how to get out of this conversation. But, because your attention was so focused on the fan, you failed to hear the other soft speaking voice.

How did you miss that? Because that drunk raging fan...that's your internal critic.

It's a total jerk. It's the one thing in your life that always knows exactly what to say to bring you down and put you into pieces. But Morgan, he's the voice of your inner wisdom.

It tells you which path to take, what to do, and how to be in situations that will resonate deeply with your core and allow you to continue being yourself. Its voice is much lower, softer (but powerful) and takes some time to tune into...

Your inner Morgan Freeman is the guiding voice of your life.

But if you are constantly paying attention to the negativity that is spewing out of the fan, you will never really get a chance to hear Morgan speak.

And not the love, passion, drive, and enthusiasm. So, today, take some time when things are sounding pretty negative in your head, and see if you can hear your inner Morgan Freeman speaking.

You will certainly not regret it.

Listen to Morgan.
